ACE at the Powershare QQQ Challenge in Chicago!

What an incredible night of tennis in Chicago! ACE had the opportunity to watch some of the greatest American players of all time. A collection of three former #1 players in the world along with 11 Grand Slams and multiple Davis Cup winners. John McEnroe led the charge with Andy Roddick, Jim Courier and James Blake filling out the ticket.

In the first semifinal, Johnny Mac took on Jim Courier in a great exhibition of skill, but also laughter. The event was the first ever to not use line judges and only the Hawk Eye system to call the lines. This brought a new, exciting intrigue to the game, but also an opportunity for comic relief. Johnny Mac, as always, cracked jokes with his quick wit with Jim Courier being no slouch, coming right back with jokes of his own. Both men were hysterical and played an excellent exhibition of groundstrokes to hands at the net.

The second semifinal had a couple of the younger additions to the PowerShare series. Andy Roddick and James Blake, two good friends, fired-off to a great groundstroke and serve display with Andy prevailing at the end. The two men demonstrated the tennis skills that made them both top five in the world along with the athleticism that demonstrated these two could have played any sport.

The final showdown showcased the mouth and hands of McEnroe against the wit and power of Roddick. The match was a compilation of touch, velocity and jokes with Andy showing that age did matter on that night taking the set 6-3.

As for our ACE players, they enjoyed every bit of the tennis, the entertainment and the knowledge they will take to court this weekend to practices. Thank you to the PowerShares Series for stopping by in Chicago as we love to have the best sport in the world in such a tennis vibrant city!
